Overview

National Education Policy - 2020 has seriously emphasized on the importance and compulsory implementation of physical education and sports as a subject and organization of sports activities as a part of total curriculum at school, college and university level of education.

The establishment of this Institute will play an important role in fulfilling the goals of National Education Policy - 2020 regarding Physical Education and Sports in this part of the country. It will prove to be very beneficial to the young students for making their career in the field of physical education & sports and thereby benefitting the society and nation as a whole by making them physically fit, healthy and strong. The main objective of this Institute will be to develop and cultivate nursery of talented National and International sports persons especially coming from Gorakhpur division in particular, Poorvanchal region and northern Bihar in general. At Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gorakhpur University Campus, we have a developmental land of approximately 22 acres in the form of University Sports Complex. Within this sports complex, we have two basketball courts (one cemented & one synthetic), one synthetic Tennis Court, one mud Volleyball court, one mud Handball court, one mud Kho Kho court, two mud Kabaddi courts one 6 lane athletic track, two cricket pitches (one cemented & one turf), one football ground, one hockey ground and indoor practice facility of Judo, Taekwondo Table Tennis etc.
